Congratulations to the team on becoming SQUIRT A2 BRONZE 04-05 Champions by defeating a Minor Atom Burlington Bulldogs team 1-0 in the Championship Final.
Our kids went through the entire weekend undefeated while playing some high intensity hockey against some great competition.
Their Friday opened up by defeating a tough BCH Icedogs Novice Rep team 3-1, taking on their leaugue rivals Sarnia and winning a close 2-1 game.
We then took a brief break from the tournament so the team and families could head down the road to Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor to enjoy watching the Univeristy of Michigan trounce Wisconsin in an NCAA-D1 hockey game. Go Blue! Nothing can compare to that atmosphere and crowd (not even a team of Oakridge hockey moms wearing Aeros branded onesie pajamas).
On Saturday they opened up the day by defeating a rough and tumble Minor Atom London Bandits team 2-1 before heading back to the hotel for some 'rest'. After a bit of a break, the team took on the Burlington Bulldogs Minor Atom MD team and played them to a 2-2 tie to close out the tournament round robin with a record of 3 wins and 1 tie. That meant that we would be playing Burlington again the next day in the final!
The Sunday final game was tough and the parents cheered themselves hoarse as both teams worked a tie score until Oakridge finally scored what would be the only goal of the game at the end of the second period. All that was left was the cheering, gasping, and shouting as the play continued in the third until the buzzer sounded with Oakridge Aeros Novice MD1
team being declared champions of the Squirt A2 Bronze Division.

What a great game, what a great way to end a weekend of hockey the boys will always remember.
The boys played so well, and deserved every hard fought goal and every win that led them to the big silver cup.
Thanks to the all the coaches for their excellent work with the team over the weekend, and the big smiles and encouragement they had for the players on the bench and off the ice.
For those keeping track, in our four tournaments this year we were Finalists in the Bob Stark, Champions in Barrie, Semi-Finalists in Preston, and Champions in Motown... finishing all our tournament games with a combined record of 14 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie.
Wow! What a great way finish the 2014 tournament schedule!
On to the playoffs!
