Dan Pulham Tournament U12 BB Champions!
The Oakridge Aeros are the 2023-24 Dan Pulham U12 BB tournament champions!
The resilient Aeros team captured the championship in a thrilling triple overtime final against the Sarnia Sting. Trailing 3-2 in the 3rd period, the Aeros were able to snipe the tying goal and then pushed hard to win the game in regulation. It wasn't until the third overtime period - where the teams went to 3-3 - that ended the back-and-forth action when the Aeros found the back of Sarnia's net and kicked off the celebrations.
The Aeros were coming off a successful weekend in Burlington the week prior where they went 1-1-2 and missed going to the finals on goal differential. The team came determined to win this weekend and opened the Pulham tournament with a comeback 2-2 tie against the London Bandits.
The next game saw Oakridge win a fast-paced game over Waterloo, 5-0. The Aeros then played Sarnia in the third game of the round robin and won another hard-fought affair, 6-4. The win over Sarnia gave Oakridge the bye to the finals.
This is the first championship for this Aeros team. All parents, fans, and coaches couldn't be more proud of this great group of young men! Go Aeros!
