Welcome to Oakridge Aeros MD Tryouts!
Hi Everyone,
I would like to welcome everyone to the tryouts for the 2017-2018 MD season. My name is Kortney Pye and I will be looking after the Oakridge Aeros Novice MD2 team. I am looking forward to starting another season of Aeros hockey.
As Karl mentioned there are 2 teams at the Major Novice level. Everyone registered in the Minor Development (MD) will start with Karl at the MD1 tryouts. Once Karl has selected the MD1 team, the remaining players will move to MD2 tryouts which are listed on the team calendar. Please make sure to subscribe to the calendar feed to ensure you have the most up-to-date information regarding tryouts times and locations.
For families and players new to the MD level, there are some additional costs involved above an beyond the registration fee as Karl mentioned. To cover additional practice ice and tournament fees and misc team costs, the additional fee will be around $700-800 per player. We will do some fundraising to offset this additional cost, and depending on the how eager the parent group is, this can be brought down significantly.
We will have 2 practices a week, which are noted on the calendar, and typically one game per week. The other teams in our league will be the London Bandits, West London, North London, Sarnia and Stratford to give you an idea of the amount of travel involved.
I have registered us in 3 tournaments, one in St. Catherines, and the other 2 are in London. There will also be the Alliance Championship tournament at the end of the year, should we qualify, which will be held in London this year.
We do have 2 teams at this age group, so I would also encourage as many kids as possible to tryout.
