Welcome to the Oakridge Aeros Atom MD competitive tryouts for the 2015- 2016 season.
Our team will consist of 13 skaters & 2 goaltenders from the 2005 age group. Players will be evaluated on their hockey skills, skating, game performance, teamwork & compete level. There will be 3rd party evaluators assisting in the tryout process.
All players will have a fair & equal opportunity to be a part of this team. Please let me know ASAP if your child is trying out for a specific position (other than goalie).

(http://oakridgeaeroshockey.ca/Teams/1436/) if your player is to continue with the Atom MD Competitive Tryouts. Note each player is guaranteed the
first & second tryout only. Players who are released will move on to House League.
In advance of team selection, please be aware of the commitment required to play on the Atom MD Competitive Team. There will be 2 practices per week, the first month or so have been scheduled for Tuesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 11:00am.
Additional Cost – In addition to the regular hockey registration & the competitive surcharge which was paid at the time of registration, approx. $700-800 in other team costs (additional practice time, tournaments, TAG hockey development, exhibition games, etc.) can be expected (team ware not included). This includes a minimal amount of fundraising. Further reduction in team fees will be determined by amount of fundraising by the team. Should your player not make the MD team, Oakridge Hockey will refund the competitive surcharge.
Travel – We will be playing approximately 30 games including teams from London (West, North & Bandits), Sarnia & Stratford. As well, we will be participating in 2 local & 2 out of town tournaments:

Holiday Games – League games are scheduled during Thanksgiving, Christmas, March Break & Easter. Playoffs begin in February & go through to April, including MARCH BREAK. Please do not book vacations during this time period.·
Fundraising – All team families are required to participate in fundraising activities throughout the season to assist with reducing the “team budget” cost per family. Each family will also be responsible in securing at least 1 sponsor for the team banner. The group will decide on any further fund raising efforts.
