Oakridge A8, 2012-2013, U14-U15 Teams (Oakridge Aeros Minor Hockey)

Tonight' s game was a display of defensive abilities. Gordie earned himself a second SHUT OUT this season. Each of the defensive lines scored our goals resulting in a win against a very talented South South East Team.   As it turns out both of our goals were scored by members of the Mother Teresa Junior Football Team (Nick and Marshall).   It is important to note that every member of the team has at least one point. That shows that playing as a team has it's results.

A quick look at the all the league games from the last two weeks show all the scores have been very close. No win this season is a guarantee. For our team last night was another hard fought exciting game. It is fun hockey to watch. We hope for the boys, it is fun hockey to play. "If you don't shoot you won't score" was the theme of last nights game. The coaches harped on that line in the dressing room and on the bench. Proof it works came in the third period with Jordan's "Insurance Goal". A puck simply thrown at the net found it's way in. We will be looking for more of that in the weeks ...

A great start to the season. First star goes to Gordie. Steady in net, his calm play meant all the difference. Second Star goes to EVERYONE. Well done everyone for playing as a team and backing each other up. We can not rest on one game, the real work starts now. See you at practice Tuesday.
