IP Development: The IP Development / Little Aeros program is a great way to introduce your player to hockey.  These "Little Aeros" will wear full equipment and progress through various fun hockey related drills.  The players will be divided up by skill level on the ice accordingly to keep the drills moving and the kids engaged.

The Minor Novice MD structure is detailed in the attached ALLIANCE Hockey Minor Novice MD 2018-19 Season Resource Guide (.pdf file).

The Guide, along with the Hockey Canada Half-Ice Video, details the operations of Minor Novice MD for the 2018-19 season for children born in 2011.

The same Guidelines and concepts are applicable for House League Hockey (minus the ALLIANCE League Structure whereby ALLIANCE sets the game match ups). 

To compliment the Minor Novice MD Guide, the Alliance is currently preparing an 8 & Under Guide as we progress to the final step of the Hockey Canada Mandate for 2019-20. Read More

IP and HALF ICE HOCKEY:
We underwent changes starting in the 2016-17 season for our Initiation Hockey Program in tune with the mandate of Hockey Canada for all Initiation Programs across Canada to follow. 

Firstly, the name Tyke Hockey Program has been replaced with Initiation Hockey Program.  Oakridge has added more teams as with half-ice play the rosters are slightly smaller.

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is proactively approaching a nation-wide initiative which will see more kids at younger ages playing and practicing hockey in age-appropriate programming.Starting in the 2019-2020 season, Hockey Canada has mandated players 8-years-old and under will participate in modified-ice games, which includes cross-ice or half-ice. To continue the player progression for young athletes already in modified-ice programming, the OHF will expand its modified-ice programming in 2018-2019 season and advance 2011-born players from cross-ice to half-ice games.  Read More
