Good effort in a losing cause
We played a very solid team tonight (Oakridge A8 is now 7-0) who has a tight defense and solid goal-tending. We had trouble penetrating their defense and getting good scoring chances, while at the other end we gave up too many good chances in close.
We can not fault our goalie, Thomas, on any of their four goals, since they scored all of their goals from the slot or closer. One thing I would like to take away from this game is that our passing must improve in terms of accuracy and hardness; all of our good chance came when we made solid passes, but unfortunately too many times we were shoveling the puck ahead without targeting a receiver (or passing behind the intended receiver) and passing much too weakly. We will work on making hard, crisp and accurate passes in our next practice. See you Monday evening.
