IMPORTANT – Oakridge Phase 2
Submitted By MD Director on Wednesday, February 17, 2021
Hello Oakridge families,

London Middlesex entered the Red Level status on 2/16/2021 which impacts the plans for our Phase 2 program in several ways. The directives from the public health authorities have changed quickly, and often which has made planning challenging. The specific Red Level Requirements are listed in the Appendix below.

Phase 2 will be a safe and fun Hockey Development program beginning February 22 running until March 28th.  Players of all ages and levels will get 1 skate per week over 5 weeks for $75.00.

Red level restrictions limits groups to a maximum of 10 playersper hour and requires an additional 30 minutes of Gap/Buffer time between groups.  This means that a 5 hour weeknight block where we would have had max 100 kids in the fall (5 groups of 20) would only be max 30 kids (3 groups of 10) over a 4.5 hour block.

We will do our best to keep team rosters similar to Phase 1 but some changes will be necessary.

With increased arena protocols and restrictions, we are unable to offer any added icetimes at this time.

In the event that our local status is updated to an Orange status or better, we will make further revisions to our program to include up to 20 skaters on ice and allow for additional scheduled icetimes.

A)      For Players who Participated in Phase 1 Who have Registered and Paid for Phase 2

  1. Do nothing. You will be contacted this weekend by your coach who will let you know your schedule. You will be issued a credit from the last week of Phase 1 that was cancelled and the difference between what you paid in the original Phase 2 Registration and $75.00.
  2. Credits will be provided at a later date.

B)      For Players who Participated in Phase 1 who have Registered for Phase 2 but have not yet Paid

  1. Please email our Register ([email protected])  BY FRIDAY FEB 19th to arrange payment of the $75- Phase 2 registration.

  2. You will be contacted this weekend by your coach who will let you know your schedule. You will be issued a credit from the last week of Phase 1 that was cancelled.
  3. Credits will be provided at a later date.

NOTE: If you participated in Phase 1 but HAVE NOT Registered or Paid for Phase 2 and WISH TO PLAY please follow the 3 above steps.

C)      If you Wish to Withdraw: If you registered for Phase 2 and NO LONGER WISH TO PARTICIPATE, please email our Register ([email protected]) stating your intention to Withdraw by Friday, February 19th to receive a full refund for Phase 2 and the last week of Phase 1 that was cancelled. Refunds will be provided at a later date.

D)      WAITLIST FOR NEW PLAYERS: If your child DID NOT participate in Phase 1 and wishes to be added to a WAITLIST for possible open spots for PHASE 2 please  email our Register ([email protected]) by Friday, February 19th. Please include your Childs Birth year, name and phone #. Players who did not participate in Phase 1 will be subject to additional fees and put on a waiting until a spot within our program is available. If you are on a waitlist we cannot be considered until we finalize our registration on Saturday the 20th.

Please allow some time for our Registrar to complete the manual refund process.

Although operating in Red Level status is not ideal it allows us to finish the season (some other local associations like Lambeth and Red Circle have decided not to continue) and keeps players on the ice having fun participating in the sport they love.

Yours in hockey,

Oakridge Hockey Board
