2019 / 20 Season Recap
Submitted By Aeros Hockey on Thursday, April 23, 2020
On March 13, 2020, the ALLIANCE Hockey season ended abruptly as the result of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Alongside the termination of the season, came the end of the pursuit of a 2020 ALLIANCE Hockey Championship for Oakridge's MD and Select Teams who all qualified to play in these year-end Alliance Championships in April.  Oakridge's CHL teams season's were also cut short as the season-ending CHL Finals Weekend and Alliance House League Championship Tournament were also cancelled.

Oakridge hockey was in the midst of a special season as it was the first time in memory that all of Oakridge's MD teams and Select Team qualified for the Alliance Championships.

The Alliance recently decided to name Shared-Champions in AAA and Seeded (AA, A) because they were down to two or three teams remaining in those categories.
MD Finalists unfortunately, were not yet determined as MD teams were in Playdown Series or Playoff Round-Robins with games to play before the Finalists could be determined.
All Regular Season MD Champions will receive a Banner and individual Regular Season MD Champion plaques.
Congratulations to our Minor Atom MD and Major Bantam MD teams who both were Regular Season MD Champions!
All of our MD teams that were in a Playdown series were in a great position as they had the series lead or were tied when the season was cancelled.
Oakridge's CHL (Community Hockey League) teams were also playing fantastic hockey. Oakridge was in a great position to have many teams qualify to participate in the CHL Finals weekend and possibly qualify for the Alliance House League Championship Tournament.
Overall, the season was a huge success as our players had fun, developed as hockey players and people by achieving success both on and off the ice.
Oakridge's Overall combined Organization record for all of our teams was very impressive. But more than our record our players had fun playing a game that they love and did a fantastic job representing what Oakridge hockey is all about.
Congratulations to all Oakridge Aeros teams on a successful season!
2020-21 Season
As all Hockey activities in Canada are currently shut down Tryouts for all levels will not be conducted this Spring.
The OHF will provide guidance on when the introduction of the 2020-21 season will begin, subject to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors’ future decision when to reinstate all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities.
It is still unclear as to what the 2020-21 season will look like; there are many factors to consider if/when the time comes to plan. Such introduction will take into consideration ice availability, capacity and other logistics involved in organizing hockey programs.
Assuming best-case scenarios, AAA tryouts tentatively could start around Labour Day, with MD tryouts starting after the AAA and Seeded (AA, A) tryouts are completed (late September/early October). Our IP and CHL seasons would start later in October.
The Oakridge Board has started work on the 2020-21 season. Player Registration and MD Coaching Applications will open in May and more information will be shared once available.

Please stay healthy and safe!
