Oakridge A9, CHL U16-U18 Teams, 2022-2023, U18 Teams (Oakridge Aeros Minor Hockey)

There was a lot of frustration on the bench, but the desire to compete was ever present.   It seemed like we were struggling to find the puck tonight.  Down 4-0 and with mere seconds left in the game, we were able to get one past the North London Nationals D9 goalie to avoid a shut out.  Good effort, guys. 🤗 -N. Our first post-Oakridge Classic game was a fascinating show.  Both teams battled, there was no scoring until the third period, and I don’t think I have ever witnessed a game with NO PENALTIES! The first goal of the game was scored by our A9 Aeros 9 minutes into the third.  Our lead was short lived when the West London Hawks B9 team scored less than a minute later.  Time to turn the jets on!  Our Aeros did not disappoint scoring the winning goal with just a couple of minutes left in the game.  Way to go, guys! -N. This tournament didn’t go as well as we hoped, but it was a tournament like none else with other factors shifting the momentum.

I’m a little behind and hence my memory of our pre tournament games is non-existent. 😞 I do know that we had a mix of about everything: a win, two ties and two losses.   We did get our final player back from his exchange program, and Likenson did not disappoint, having scored a goal in each his two pre-tournament games.  It’s so nice to have the WHOLE team now. -N. This weekend we are participating in the Oakridge Classic.  We have had a very successful 2023 so far and we really shine in tournaments.  The drive, effort and determination of our players takes on a whole new level.  Needless to say, I am truly excited for this tournament.  Go get ‘em A9 Aeros!  You’ve got this! -N.
