It Comes Down To 1 Game; Are You In?
After a season that saw us play 69 games that included exhibition games, 5 tournaments, regular season, and a bunch of playoff rounds, it comes down to 1 game on Saturday night. One game; Oakridge vs North.
While we have played some of our best hockey this year when we have played with momentum or a shorter than normal bench, it is games like Saturday night that need to bring the entire team together. We have worked very hard this year to teach how to attack, defend, contain, and play smart. It all needs to come together for us Saturday night.
Our playoff run started off with much success defending West and sent them packing in Game 3. Our series vs Stratford started off on the wrong foot but we played our hearts out in game 2 and 3. Our series against Waterloo was our best taking 2 of 2 but our biggest challenge all season has been dealing with North London.
If we can limit their movement on the ice, make smoother passes on our breakouts and shoot more, we will come out on top. We will need to shorten shifts for some and get others to shoot more to be successful.
To win Saturday night, it will take everyone on the bench to give 110% on every.....single.....shift. Make an impact every time you step on the ice; block a shot, take a hit/give a clean hit, dig down low, contain the play, make a great pass, get a clean quick shot off and follow up for the rebound.
DISCIPLINE.
INTENSITY.
EFFORT.
I GIVE 110.
PERIOD.
Play your hearts out boys and let's get the to the Alliance Playoff Finals and play St. Thomas.
