Pause on Sports Programming per Ontario Government
Due to the increasing transmissions of COVID-19, the Province of Ontario announced on January 3, 2022, that it is returning to modified Step 2 of the Reopening Plan based on O. Reg. 263/20.

In conjunction with this announcement, the OHF/Alliance is pausing all in-person programming (games, practices, on-ice and off-ice training etc.) in its entirety beginning January 5, 2022, at 12:01am until 12:01am on January 27, 2022, unless restrictions are eased by the Ontario Government prior to. The only exceptions are for athletes training for the Olympics and Paralympics and select Professional and Elite Amateur Sport Leagues and Events who will operate via an approved Framework from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and meet all sanctioning requirements of their respective Member. In accordance with O. Reg. 263/20: Rules for areas in Step 2, “Framework” means the document titled “Return-to-Play Framework for Professional and Elite Amateur Sport Leagues and Events.”

The City of London has closed their arenas during this time period as youth sports are not deemed in the same light as professional and elite amateur sports by the Ontario Government. As a result, our ice convenor has removed the following from January 5th to January 26th from our team's calendar:

- Removed all ice
- Removed all practices
- All homes games have been cancelled
- Removed all tournaments teams were attending

The Alliance is planning to be ready to return to hockey (https://alliancehockey.com/Articles/6089/Return_to_Hockey_Status_/) and shared : 'It is imperative that everyone continue to follow all public measures and get vaccinated with your first, second or booster dose if you have not done so already as we plan to return to hockey once permitted. ALLIANCE Hockey will continue to maintain focus to ensure that once possible, we will be ready to return to play.'

Stay healthy and active and we look forward to resuming the game we love soon!
