We never said it was going to be easy.
The team needs to compete every time we step on the ice; improving our passing, shooting, and play making in practice evolves in to effective output during games. There are reasons behind every drill, every pass, every reason why X player is put in to Y position.
When guys play on their own, no one wins. No goals, no passes, no wins. Thinking before we pass or shoot creates opportunity for those around you. The simplest of breakouts to 3 on 2's, understanding how you create opportunity creates options. It's a team effort. If you don't skate to open ice, if you don't make good passes because you just don't put the effort in, hurts others around you.
The team proved against North London that anything is possible. Improved passing and more shots at the net created great goals. Regardless of who eventually put the puck in the back of the net, it was the team that got the puck there.
It takes every player on the team to win our games. With a very short bench or not, we have proven that we can compete with every team. The question remains, what do we need to do differently to beat the other team at their own game.
