We demonstrated better passing and puck control and although the outcome was not what we wanted, the coaches were satisfied with our effort. I was very impressed that we did not give up even when we were down by four goals.
A few timely saves with fewer hit posts and cross-bars and the outcome would have been different. This brings me to two points that I want to take away from this game:
- Do not stop playing until the final whistle. (We executed this well in our 8-6 loss; I was very pleased with our never-give-up attitude tonight.)
- Focus less on the outcome and more on our effort. In many ways we do not control the outcome (whether we win or lose), but we can control our attitude, preparation and effort every game.
See you Monday for practice.
