COACHES / TRAINERS

We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers willing to give back and help with our teams. Without volunteers, we don't have a program. To be officially rostered there are requirements, please see below and ask a Convener should you have questions.

Coaches Certification : What you Need to Know

    • All coach clinics and information are provided via the Alliance Hockey - Coaches website
    • There is an out of pocket expense for coaches to attend the clinic
    • As a Head Coach, you are expected to have the DS1 level certification
    HTCP/Trainers Certification / Recertification: What you Need to Know
    • All trainer certifications are facilitated via the Alliance Hockey website: 
    • There is an up-front cost for Trainers to certify or re-certify
    • As a Trainer you are also required to have the Respect in Sport certification
    • Every team is required to have a Certified Trainer.
    Respect In Sport (a.k.a Speak-out): What you Need to Know
    • Every Coach/Trainer/Assistant Coaches/Helper at all ages/levels are required to have their Respect in Sport 'Activity Leader' certifications.  This is in addition to the parent course. The cost of this is for your own account.

    • Respect in Sport certifications can be completed directly with the Hockey Canada website using the following link

       There are also other Hockey Canada online courses required to be rostered, (usually No Charge) your head coach/convener will let you know.
